Dania Hall Renovation

Close Associates was commissioned on four separate occasions to help restore this Minneapolis landmark. The final attempt came in 1999 in a partnership with the West Bank CDC, the city of Minneapolis and a private developer. Construction was 80% complete when arson destroyed the building. Although it is gone, Dania was part of our Community and Close Associates for so many years it seems right to include it in these pages. Many years on the National Register of Historic Places, Dania was a center for immigrants throughout its long history. Its fourth floor theater with delightful curved balcony hosted all manner of presentations and events for West Bankers.
